"I would like the activities and projects undertaken by The Ochre Home to inspire others to keep searching for fresh life experiences, opportunities, and unrestrainedly pursue their passions despite uncertain and trying times."

Could you share a little about yourself?
Hi, I’m Geraldine and I am an artist and stylist who believes in marrying the beauty of art and homes through my art and design. I have always been a nature enthusiast and love anything that involves the outdoors and being active. As such, I am extremely drawn to earthy tones in my art and home designs that can be seen through my botanical paintings and mid-century aesthetic.
How did the IG handle ochre.home come about?
Ochre, pronounced as ‘O-Ker’, is a colour pigment that is visualized as an earthy yellow or brown, which perfectly represents the colours of The Ochre Home, and also my favourite range of earthy colours. The Ochre Home was started in June 2020 initially with the intention of simply sharing photos of my home, which served as a springboard for many other creative opportunities that led to it becoming a brand that encompasses beauty and love for anything at home - interior, art, furniture, lifestyle. In what ways do you hope The Ochre Home can inspire others too?
On a practical level, I hope that The Ochre Home can inspire other homeowners and enthusiasts by providing helpful design knowledge and tips to elevate their own spaces, but more importantly, I would like the activities and projects undertaken by The Ochre Home to inspire others to keep searching for fresh life experiences, opportunities, and unrestrainedly pursue their passions despite uncertain and trying times.
Where did you draw your inspiration from for this hand painted collaboration?
The colours of Our Barehands' products - burnt orange, olive green, and mustard yellow resembled colours of the earth and nature’s blooms, which made the idea of painting botanicals to not dominate, but complement the colours and textures of their linen products come very naturally. Peonies and protea flowers were the painting picks as they naturally bloomed in shades of pinks and blush with soft petals and leaves, which add a touch of softness and warmth to linen.

Why did you partner with Our Barehands?
I personally love the organic texture and simplicity of linen wear and products, coupled with the inspirational story behind the founding of Our Barehands that values craft and celebrates individuality, so when we connected and talked about this, I was completely onboard! The combination of botanicals on linen felt like a beautiful and perfect combination that I couldn’t pass on.
