About the Artist
Geraldine Toh from The Ochre Home. A visual artist by training, with a major in animation. Geraldine pursued the path of an art educator for 5 years before stepping into a new chapter of being a freelance interior stylist and mural artist. Inspired by the elements of nature and its organism, she creates enlarged botanical mural paintings for interiors, and commissions abstract expressionist paintings primarily in acrylic paint, pastels and graphite.
About the collection
Celebrating 5 years of handcrafted design and empowering artisan communities, our Barehands journey is symbolised by the changing landscapes of the day. From sunrise to sunset, the light illuminates everything it touches, revealing the shifting colors of the sky and land. This journey reflects the ebb and flow of activity, the moments of bustle and quiet, and the mist and clarity that appear and disappear with time.
About the Prints
- Flow in Terrain: The flow of brush strokes is fluid, free, and energetic, like the sprouts of a new season. They embody the vitality, life and warmth that radiate across the land.
- Flow in Dusk: A palette of navy and sand brings the journey into unchartered waters, as with the envelope of night. Amidst the challenges, the gestural strokes of human figures tell of our unwavering commitment to our mission.
- Break of Dawn: As the sun rises again on a new day, a soft yellow glow illuminates the scene. Human figures bask in the gentle sunlight, embracing the new horizons and day to come.
- Plaid in Purple Haze: The sun and moon compete in the sky at this hour, a pale purple intertwines with yellow, seemingly conflicting yet in harmony. The grid lines give an illusion of structure, though each stroke meticulously hand-painted, evoking the memory of an arduous journey.
- Plaid in Bluegrass: In the bright of day, plains and forests grow lush with green, while rivers run blue with water; like how all things in nature have its time and place, the hand painted lines represent a constant plan and dedication, with room for excitement for what is to come.
